Waxing Poetic

With all of the monogram jewellery on the brain I decided to treat myself to a little something special.

No not a signet ring (not yet at least) but a necklace by Waxing Poetic.  A friend of mine wears an ‘R’ for her fiancĂ© which is so sweet but I thought I’d take it one step further. I went with the Gothic style ‘A’ and a ‘C’ then added a charm to tie them together on a long chain. There were a lot of beautiful charms to choose from however this made me think of love and marriage. I wanted something with gold and silver and that I could wear with any outfit but was still a special piece. I love how it looks all together.

Question of the day...

Is fur too much?? Of course not!! Especially when it's New Year's Eve with your bff and you've got your Grandmother's vintage coat!!

I was given Chris' Grandma Anne's stunning coat after we got married. It's so beautiful and in mint condition. It has the original hanger and bag showing it's made in Vancouver, her name is even stiched on the inside!!!

Gawkerverse

Here is a food blog that was passed on to me through a friend. She described it to me as porn for food. I will let you make up your mind, however I find it very enticing!

I think the reason I enjoy the site so much is because it shows you steps you take to complete the recipe along with delicious photos. Since it's not a big secret that I lack a few of the domestic skills in the kitchen the photos help to show me I'm on the right track.

Once you're there you'll also notice:
weddinggawker, craftgawker and dwellinggawker. I find myself bouncing around from one blog to the next, I love seeing how many creative people there are out there!

Signet Ring

My sister Justina and I were going through our book of THE ONE HUNDRED by Nina Garcia and we got to talking about Signet rings. We’ve always loved anything that is personalized as it's impossible to find something with our names on it that wasn't custom made. We each have our ‘name necklace’ which we wear almost daily however a ring would be much more of a statement piece.

With a Signet ring you can have your family crest or have your monogram. Not only do I love the look of these however I love the history. Important documents and letters were sealed with wax then imprinted with their emblem.
Then Justina and I had a slight memory of a ring that our dad had however he didn’t recall. After searching through his box of treasures we were surprised to find a ton loot including a gold monogram ring that was given to him years ago. Yes that's a Z for Zygmunt!!

I asked if I could wear it and of course didn’t understand why I would want to wear a man’s ring but I love it.. not only that its my dad's but I love the look of it. (I did however have to use a 'jumper' as it's far too big).

I think I might have to look into having one made for Justina and I.

Shit Single Girls Say

Ok here is a new one. It's a diffent guy and directed towards single girls and super funny. I especially like how he has a 3 o'clock shadow and because a lot of what he says is true. "If I met Ryan Goslin he'd want to build me a house, Maybe I should make a new dream board!"
